I’m not interested in conspiracy theories or in hearing/reading the same rhetoric I’ve seen/heard all over for the past few months, especially since January 6th, 2021. Giving these ideas any energy is giving them fuel and I won’t do that. I simply don’t have the time to waste. That being said, I want to offer my view on the situation. One to combat the conspiracies and hopefully garner support from those who feel the same way.

What Happened on January 6th, 2021 at the Capitol?

“This is not dissent, it’s disorder.” Joe Biden

The following is not a matter of opinion. Whatever my feelings may be on this subject, this is the truth as verified by many nonpartisan outlets: Ex President Trump rallied his supporters and made a speech about his election loss. His words directly riled these people to storm the Capitol in an armed insurrection. He told them to march down Pennsylvania Avenue and encouraged them to stop a legal process in our democracy, the Congressional session that confirms the electoral college vote which happened on December 14th. This session has been largely ceremonial in the past but for this election, the person who held the highest office in this this country, who preached “law and order,” used it as a platform to sow division over a fair and legal election. This came after former Vice President Mike Pence made a public outcry in a letter to lawmakers that he would not stop this session of Congress over which he was meant to preside, standing up to pressure from the Ex President.

Now, no one is forcing anyone to believe my report of what happened. It’s heavily truncated and, if you don’t seek out the news, you probably have no clue about what it all means. I urge you to look it all up for yourself, to find some nonpartisan and unbiased sources to get all the details. If, however, you’ve heard it all before and would rather choose to cling to conspiracy, you’re wasting your time and energy. Your opinions don’t change the truth. Your feelings have no bearing on what actually happened.

Verifying Facts and Placing Blame

Before you come at me with grainy photos and random videos from social media, I want you to take a moment and really think about what led to this, what these people who…
